Throughout the series, Rob, Cassie and viewers were led to believe that 18-year-old Rosalind had been a victim of sexual assault at the hands of her father, something which she told Damien. In a twist no one saw coming, Katy’s older sister Rosalind (Leah McNamara) was the mastermind behind Katy’s death. Turns out, sweet and vulnerable Damien did kill Katy but he was manipulated into attacking her by someone much closer to Katy. Rob made the connection between Damien and Katy after he released the chocolate digestive biscuit Katy ate shortly before she died came from Damien’s biscuit tin. The penultimate episode of Dublin Murders saw all fingers pointing to archaeologist Damien as Katy's killer.
